Limerick return to the TUS Gaelic Grounds this Sunday to take on reigning All-Ireland Champions Clare following a dominant outing against Cork last week

Limerick return to the TUS Gaelic Grounds again this week, knowing a result against Clare will seal their place in the 2025 Munster Championship Final following their triumphant 3-26 to 1-16 win against Cork last week.
Sitting on top of the table, entering the final round of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship, John Kiely’s men will be hoping to continue their form following a slow start on opening day, which saw them draw with Tipperary in a 2-23 to 2-23 thriller.
The Shannonsiders showed a ruthlessness in the recent Cork performance which will have supporters buzzing for the rest of the championship ahead. The team will be hoping for Aaron Gillane to continue his current form, having rattled 2-7 home against Cork and a stellar display against Waterford earlier in May. The team were working like a machine with Cian Lynch conducting in midfield, and Kyle Hayes earned Man of the Match honours with a commanding defensive performance.
Clare were slow out the gates in this year’s championship with a draw on opening day against Cork followed by two defeats, including a defeat to Waterford where they were undone by a two-goal Stephen Bennett blitz in the second half, but were missing their talisman Tony Kelly due to illness. Last weekend’s results were the nail in the coffin for Clare’s season as they will now have an early summer, but pride to play for this weekend will make it a game worth watching.
With Limerick’s form gaining steam, it will be the perfect challenge for the Treaty men and a result this weekend will be the perfect preparation in the build-up to a Munster Championship Final and setting them up for what will hopefully be a long summer ahead.
