University Concert Hall is delighted to announce the return of it’s much loved Limerick Classical Concert Series this Spring with an exciting line up of chamber musicians, pianists and opera recitals.

The Sunday afternoon performances are presented by Liz Nolan of RTÉ Lyric FM, and promise an unforgettable series of classical performances featuring some of the most exciting classical artists from Ireland and beyond.

Sunday 1st March, 3.30pm sees Ora Quartet with Paul Grennan (Cello) take to the UCH stage.

Join the Ora Quartet for an extraordinary afternoon of chamber music, joined by guest cellist Paul Grennan. The programme opens with Britten’s Second String Quartet, showcasing the quartet’s precision and intensity, before moving to Schubert’s iconic String Quintet, a masterpiece of rich textures and profound emotional depth. This concert promises a captivating evening of passion, brilliance, and musical dialogue, offering an unforgettable experience for both seasoned listeners and new audiences alike.

Sunday 22nd March, 3.30pm brings Sinéad Farrell (Flute), Fiachra Garvey (Piano), Katie Tertell (Cello).

This dynamic recital takes you on a musical journey from the intricate elegance of J.S. Bach’s Sonata in E Major to the vivid colours of Gaubert’s Three Watercolours, the energetic rhythms of Martinu’s Trio, and the expressive depth of Louise Farrenc’s Trio.

Sunday 19th April, 3.30pm sees the Irish National Opera Studio Recital

A concert of love, loss and laughter. Step into the world of opera through a vivid selection of arias and duets that span comedy, tragedy, and everything in between. From the elegance of bel canto to the power of Britten, this concert offers a captivating introduction to opera’s most unforgettable moments.

Performed by Laura Aherne (soprano), Heather Sammon (mezzo-soprano), Olha Palazhchenko (mezzo-soprano), David Kennedy (baritone), and Doireann O’Carroll (répétiteur).

Sunday 2nd May, 3.30pm hosts Music from the French Salons with Finghin Collins

Join acclaimed Irish pianist Finghin Collins for a captivating afternoon of piano music inspired by the elegance and charm of the French salon tradition. Featuring works by Pleyel, Chopin, Haydn, O’Kelly, Pfeiffer, and Debussy, this programme blends Classical grace, Romantic passion, and Impressionist colour in a performance not to be missed.

He was named the Limerick Person of the Year (2011) and won an online award at the Metro Éireann Media and Multicultural Awards (2011) for promoting multi-culturalism online.
