Limerick Educate Together fashion show takes place Thursday, January 19 at Castletroy Park Hotel
Students, staff and parents of Limerick’s newest secondary school will hit the catwalk in the Castletroy Park Hotel on Thursday, January 19. A showcase of fashion and glam will be on the menu in front of what is expected to be a capacity crowd for Limerick Educate Together Secondary School’s (LETSS) inaugural fashion show.
The Limerick Educate Together fashion show is being run as a fundraiser for local Limerick children’s charity CARI, which provides child-centred therapy for children and adolescents who have been affected by sexual abuse. The fashion spectacle will also be the first of many fundraisers for a school minibus.
LETSS are producing their inaugural fashion show in partnership with the Holman Lee Agency. Winter and new spring collections from a host of local stores will feature on top of a shopping experience for guests with local craft, retail and jewellery makers in attendance. To top this off, those lucky enough to purchase a ticket for the fashion gala will be treated to a prosecco reception at 7pm prior to the fashion spectacle which kicks off at 7.30pm.
LETSS Principal Eoin Shinners said there is a great buzz of excitement ahead of our inaugural fashion show saying, “We’re thrilled to be working closely with Holman Lee Agency for our first fashion show and more importantly, to use the event to raise awareness about children and adolescent sexual abuse. CARI does amazing work in Limerick and we are delighted to be have the opportunity to support them. Our dedicated staff are working around the clock preparing for the fashion show and we can’t wait to see our students together with staff and parents take to the catwalk with models from the agency.”
Speaking about the year ahead and the school, Principal Shinners highlighted the significance of 2023 saying, “2023 is a very special year for the school community as we finally look forward to moving to our permanent home in Towlerton, Castletroy.”
LETSS is Limerick City’s newest second-level school. When it opened in 2018, there were 56 students enrolled in the school. This coming September, the school will boast over 600 students across all year groups. “Our school has grown steadily since opening in 2018 and we’re delighted to offer prospective students and parents the Castletroy area with another choice for secondary school.
