Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick invited SME’S, MicroExporters Entrepreneurs  in Limerick City and County to an exclusive Export Information Event at ENGINE HUB, Cecil St, Limerick titledLocal to Global, Rising to the Export Challenge’. 

An immersive morning with some of the key bodies supporting Ireland’s exporters, gave local businesses a chance to discover all they needed to know to start their journey from local to global and provided all the information, connections and resources businesses would need to execute a successful export strategy. 

The captive audience heard from a panel of experts from Enterprise Ireland, InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Europe Network to discuss the challenges and opportunities for businesses to connect and develop the export markets in Northern Ireland, UK and Europe. A number of Limerick SME’s shared their stories about how they have grown their markets internationally.

With guest panellists from a number of export advisory agencies attendees were given a clear pathway of information, connections and resources needed to execute a successful export strategy. The guest panellists included Patrick Mc Mahon, Enterprise Ireland, Ann Dooley, Enterprise Europe Network and Denise Mahon, Intertrade Ireland.

Guest speakers also included local businesses and micro exporters who have taken the first steps into foreign markets and discussed the challenges and opportunities of expanding their sales markets. Each client also discussed the levels of supports that they availed of through Local Enterprise Office Limerick.

Mike Cantwell, Head of Enterprise at LEO Limerick said, “the event was an opportunity for LEO Limerick to share recent changes to the products available to businesses through LEO Limerick which can help companies strengthen their digital presence, aid energy efficiency, and support exports. There’s a range of different support changes that are happening for LEO Limerick. But we also want to encourage businesses to consider export as an option to grow their business going forward.”

An added benefit to the event was the opportunity for attendees to network among Limerick entrepreneurial and business community, giving the chance to share ideas and discuss issues and initiatives in local enterprise. The event proved to be a highlight for clients as they prepare for busy summer months ahead.

Limerick LEO provides a range of services directly to the small and microenterprise sector as well as helping to create a beneficial environment in which the sector can flourish by offering many supports for local businesses no matter what part of their business journey they are on.
