Limerick family take on Cook Medical Mini Marathon with fundraiser in honour of “most loving” aunt and mother
A Limerick family are teaming up to take on this year’s Cook Medical Mini Marathon with fundraiser for Milford Hospice in memory of their beloved mother and aunt, Ann
Dylan Moore, Denise O Brien, and Claire Fitzgerald have set up a fundraiser in honour of their late mother and aunt, Ann, by bringing members of the family together to take on the Cook Medical Mini Marathon this October and raise funds for Milford Hospice “who took great care” of their beloved relative.
Ann sadly passed away at the age of 49 on July 4, 2024, and following the compassion she received at Milford Hospice the family have come together to raise funds for charity, Ann’s son Dylan along with his cousins Denise and Claire will be running the Cook Mini Marathon this Sunday, October 6.
With more than €2500 raised of their €2500 goal, the group will give back to Milford Hospice in Ann’s honour; initially setting a goal of €300, the group increased their target having received so much support.
Writing on the Eventmaster fundraising page, Denise said, “We lost the most loving Aunt we could have ever wished for and her boys lost their beautiful wife and mother. We are raising funds for Milford hospice who took great care of Ann and her family during her journey to meet with the angels. This is a small gesture to show our appreciation for the care given to our Aunt in her time of need.”
Milford Hospice, known for its specialist palliative care, provides a range of services from rehabilitation to end-of-life care, both on-site and within the community through its more than 350 staff and 100 volunteers. The hospice supports patients and their families during incredibly difficult times and fundraisers such as the Cook Medical Mini Marathon help the group maintain the high standards of care they provide.
The family is asking supporters to share their fundraising page on social media which will help spread the word of the work carried out by Milford Hospice while raising much-needed funds for the service. The fundraiser organiser thanked everyone for their support and said, “Ann is missed beyond words and will always remain in our hearts.”
