The Limerick Senior Hurlers will welcome reigning All-Ireland champions, Tipperary to the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Sunday, May 24, for what will be the team’s most important game of the 2026 season so far.

Having sealed a place in the All-Ireland series this summer following a victory over Waterford on Sunday, May 17, Limerick face Tipperary knowing a win will see them face either Cork or Clare in the 2026 Munster Final.

Calling for the amazing Limerick supporters to come out in force for this weekend’s fixture, Limerick GAA said, “This Limerick team has given us so many great days under John Kiely over the past decade, and they deserve the best possible support on the day in their efforts to reach a record-equalling eighth Munster final in a row.”

To help ensure the best atmosphere at the ground during the game, Limerick GAA has come up with a wonderful initiative that will see hundreds of green and white flags, scarves, and thunder sticks handed out to fans inside the stadium to further elevate the noise, colour, and excitement generated by the dedicated supporters in green and white.

The initiative will culminate in a special competition, with the five loudest and proudest fans receiving official Limerick GAA merchandise as a thank you for their support.

Promising an amazing atmosphere on Sunday, Limerick GAA added, “So, spread the word and get to the ground early on Sunday to make sure you get your hands on one of these special free giveaways to help cheer our lads to victory. There will be plenty of sights and sounds on the day to enhance the special match-day atmosphere at the Gaelic Grounds.”

This weekend sees the fifth and final round of Munster Hurling Round Robin action as Limerick and Tipperary face off, with Tipp missing out on a place in the All-Ireland season, they will have pride to play for as Limerick aim to reach this year’s Munster Final.

In the second game, at Parc Uí Chaoimh, also at 4 pm, the group leaders Cork take on third-place Clare, who sit level on points with Limerick. The Treaty men, in second place on scoring difference, know a win would all but guarantee their place in the Munster Final as they hold a commanding +22 score difference. Cork are two points ahead with a +10 score difference, and Clare hold a +2 score difference.
