Limerick Gymnastics Club are asking for your help and support in their fundraiser for equipment and operating costs to enable the club to stay open, during these hard times.

Limerick Gymnastics Club is located on the Dock Road, Limerick. It is a fun and progressive club catering for members aged four to late teens in a fully equipped training space. The club runs recreational and competitive classes and also provides a leader program for our teen members.

The Gymnastics Club has a high retention rate keeping many young people, especially girls involved in sport, with a dedicated coaching team working with an amazing group of enthusiastic gymnasts who love the sport of gymnastics.

During all three lockdowns, they have been keeping their gymnasts active and interested by providing workbooks, pre recorded classes and free live zoom classes.

However, Covid 19 has had a huge financial impact on the club, while being in operation for 17 weeks in 2020 and has yet to open in 2021. The membership and capacity for growth for their club has been significantly reduced due to the Covid restrictions.

Their club has invested heavily in its development over the last six years since their move from a small school hall to a fulltime facility. To keep the club going in such a facility they still have to pay rent, utilities and insurance costs. Any income they receive when they return will go to the operating costs rather than purchasing equipment.

Speaking on the fundraiser, Louise, Julie and the Team of Limerick Gymnastics club said:

“We really want to bounce back into the gym so we would like to give our members (current and past) and the wider community the opportunity to donate something. Many parents have asked could they pay for our current zoom sessions. Any donation no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated.

We had been planning to replace our old red track (seen in picture) with an updated version and all donations will be put towards the track for everyone to enjoy in the future.  Thank you for your support and please share with past and current members.”
