The aim of this event is to clear up misconceptions of Muslims fueled by the media and integrate them into our culture and Limerick.

This event will offer an opportunity to meet, share, discuss and experience the principles and culture of Irish Muslims.

There will also be short discussion forums where members of the public will be able to discuss and ask questions about Islam and Muslims.

Last year’s Limerick Islamic Culture Exhibition was met with great success.

Discover Islam representative, Bilal said, “The main purpose for holding this exhibition is to build bridges between cultures, to let people know more about Islamic culture and remove stereotypes”.

Discover Islam Ireland are an organisation who have been running events in Ireland since 2011 with the intention of demystifying the preconceptions of Islamic culture and create positive relationships.

Discover Islam Ireland is committed to bringing about Peace, Harmony, and Goodwill through knowledge of Islam.

Through the work of Discover Islams events in Ireland and the UK such as Islamic Exhibitions, interfaith panels, lectures and Islam awareness weeks in universities, colleges, schools and libraries, over 1,000,000 people got the right education about Islamic culture and religion.

Over 49,000 people have already joined Discover Islam on Facebook and interacted with the conversation.

The exhibition in Limerick will provide visitors with an opportunity to learn about Islam, clarify a point and ask questions on biased stereotypes as well as giving an insight into the Islamic Faith in an environment of openness and willingness.

The exhibition takes place on Saturday, October 19 from 12-5 pm at Pery’s Hotel, Glenworth Street Limerick and is completely free.

Tea and coffees will also be available free of charge for all guests.
