Limerick Jazz festival returned for a second year later with a serious programme on offer for jazz lovers and music fans alike.

Run by the Limerick Jazz Society, who have been bringing top class music to the region for some 30 years, the festival picked up where last year let off, with a bustling line-up of acts booked for the city based festival, that ran from September 26-29 with performances from Louis Stewart and Jim Doherty – two of Ireland’s most prolific performers – and the Larry McKenna Quartet, featuring Tony Miceli on vibes alongside the world renowned jazz saxophone player.

Other performances included Christine Tobin Trio and the Crisis Point Big Band, formed by festival organiser John Daly last year and boasting some top musicians, including guitar prodigy Andreas Varady, plus Larry McKenna and Tony Miceli.

See www.limerickjazzfestival.com for full details of the programme.
