Sarsfield Credit Union have recently announced their sponsorship of the well known Limerick Lawn Tennis Club, in the hope of furthering the club’s growth and success in the coming years.

Sarsfield Credit Union is hoping to support the sports stars of the future through its sponsorship of the Limerick Lawn Tennis Club. David Costelloe, Sarsfield Credit Union Chief Executive said, “We are delighted to get the opportunity to sponsor Limerick Lawn Tennis Club as we have seen the growth in the club and are excited to be able to support further growth and success in the coming years.”

Limerick Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1877 and is home to the historic South of Ireland Senior, Junior and Veterans Tennis Championships. The club boasts 12 synthetic grass courts as well as 3 squash courts, a gym, sauna and modern changing facilities.

The atmospheric clubhouse, which was redeveloped in 2006, hosts a bar, high-spec catering facilities and a lounge capable of holding functions for up to 100 guests and with the added support of Sarsfield Credit Union, there is no stopping the young tennis prospects.

Describing confirmation of the sponsorship as a major boost for the club and its members, Limerick Lawn Tennis Club President Gerry Clancy said it underlined the vital role that Sarsfield Credit Union plays in supporting the community in which it operates.

“We look forward to welcoming new members of all ages to our club to enjoy our excellent facilities, be it tennis, squash, cardio fitness, gymnasium and much more besides”

Sarsfield Credit Union is a local, not for profit financial institution, who specialise in providing a safe place for Loans and Savings in Limerick city. The credit union first opened its first office on Monday, October 8, 1962 in St. Clements Hall, beside the Redemptorist Church and by close of business that night and had two hundred members and they had deposited savings of over £700.00.
