Limerick Mental Health Awareness Midsummer’s Eve Event
Limerick Mental Health Awareness Midsummer’s Eve Event is coming to the Milk Market on Saturday, June 19. Amanda Clifford from Limerick Mental Health Awareness is organising the event to raise money for The Blue Box charity.
The Blue Box’s objective is to help vulnerable young people and their families to realise their potential through creative arts therapies.
Limerick Mental Health Awareness is an organisation set up to promote a healthy and open attitude towards mental health. Their aims are to promote mental health awareness and to reduce the stigma that is attached to mental health. They also network with all the different organisations so they can work together to support people who experience mental health difficulties.
Midsummer’s Eve Event is expressing that it is an event to imagine, to wish, to dream and to believe that anything is possible. There are plenty of activities to do for the whole family at the event and even a screening of Disney’s Maleficent which Disney have kindly allowed the charity to show free of charge. There will be stalls of face painting by Playful Penguin Parties, magic from Steve Spade, LED hoop performances and a magical fancy dressing competition.
Maleficent is a highly rated Disney film (7/10 on IMDb) starring Angelina Jolie which tells the background story of Maleficent from the infamous children’s tale Sleeping Beauty. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s new born infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy.
Gates will open at 8pm to enjoy the magical atmosphere around the different stalls and Maleficent will start at 9.30pm.
There is only 300 tickets and they’re available at The Hunt Museum and The Edge and Harper’s at the Milk Market.
