With Saturday’s Munster Hurling League Final looming where Limerick will take on Waterford after topping their respective groups, Limerick Manager John Kiely has announced his team to take on the Déise.

Colin Ryan retains his place in goal following a great performance against Cork, with one change to the backline where Na Piarsaigh’s Vince Harrington steps in at right cornerback with Barry Murphy moving to the centre and Eddie Stoke keeping his spot at left cornerback.

The half-back line sees another change on the right side with the introduction of Darragh Langan in for Chris Thomas with William O’Donoghue taking on the role of Captain in the centre alongside Matthew Fitzgerald.

Darragh O’Donovan remains in the centre of the park, replacing Cian Lynch for the league final is Monaleen’s Joe Fitzgerald.

Leading the attack, Gearóid Hegarty comes in on the right, move from centre forward against Cork, he will play in a half-forward line with Aidan O’Connor and John English.

The full forward line sees Donncha Ó Dálaigh stay on the right-hand side with the return of Shane O’Brien and Fintan Fitzgerald as John Kiely continues to make changes to the squad throughout the league phase.

The 2026 Co-Op Superstores Munster Hurling League Final, sees Limerick face Waterford on Saturday, January 17 in Mallow GAA Complex. The final, with throw in at, at 3:15 pm will be overseen by referee John Bugler of Clare as up to 2,000 supporters will be eager to see the clash between the two group-topping teams.

Limerick reached the decider after a dramatic group stage in Group B which saw the Treaty team bounce back following a narrow 3-20 to 3-18 defeat against Clare in an opening round before dominating an experimental Cork side in a 1-28 to 0-16 clinical victory at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick needed a favour from the Cork side as they needed the Rebels to beat the Banner team to reach the final, and with all three teams—Limerick, Clare, and Cork—finishing the group with one win each following Cork’s 1-point win over Clare, Limerick topped the table thanks to a superior scoring difference of +13.

The game is set to kick off at 3:15pm, and will be shown live on TG4.
