Discussed in the opening episode of I Love Limerick’s Podcast show, were the recent events that took place in Limerick last week, such as Riverfest Limerick won the top prize at the Event Industry Awards 2019, beating off competition from festivals and other events across the country including Pope Francis’s Visit to Ireland, New Year’s Eve Festival in Dublin and Seafest. Another event that took place is the announcement by Focus Ireland that King John’s Castle will host Shine a Light Night 2019. The event challenges business leaders across Ireland to sleep-out for one night and in doing so, raise vital funds to help alleviate homelessness.

Also discussed in the podcast were other news stories in Limerick, such as the return of Angela’s Ashes, The Musical to Limerick with a strictly limited run, from Thursday, July 18, to Saturday, July 27, and Joy Neville launched a local volunteer drive for Barnardos in Limerick, which will take place on Friday, September 13.

Upcoming events taking place in the coming weeks were also spoken about, such as the ‘Two Can Do’ Summer Tour and Support Workshops that will be coming to the Hunt Museum this August.
