Upcoming events taking place next week were also spoken about, such as Limerick is set to celebrate Bastille Day 2019 on Sunday, July 14 at King John’s Castle and the Pig n Porter Festival 2019 will begin on Friday, July 12, with live music and registration for teams, and the matches will then take place on Saturday, July 13.

The Miss Limerick pageant has acted as one of the main events of the summer social calendar for over three decades and this year, for the first time, the show will have a new creative team running the competition. This year also marks the return of the Miss Clare competition for the first time in three years, with the winner also going forward straight to the Miss Ireland Final.
