Limerick Podiatry Centre on O’Connell Street is helping people across the city and county stay active, comfortable, and pain-free by offering expert care and advice for all conditions affecting the lower limbs, feet, and ankles.
Situated behind Foot Solutions on O’Connell Street, the centre offers a fully patient-centred service helping the people of Limerick stay on their feet by treating podiatric issues.
Faith Giagb, a podiatrist with Limerick Podiatry Centre, says podiatry is a lot more than nail care, she told I Love Limerick, “ We’re located behind the Foot Solution Shop on O’Connell Street. Podiatry is a branch of medicine where we specialise in the lower limb and foot and ankle. Podiatry is much more than just cutting your nails. We don’t just look at the feet, we look at the whole person. We monitor your foot health.”
Taking this holistic approach, podiatrists will not only diagnose and treat conditions, but will also work towards prevention. Faith said, “ At regular checkups, we diagnose and treat foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions. We prevent diabetic complications by identifying risks early. We understand how your medications and your medical conditions may affect your feet.”
Beyond the treatment services, the staff are on hand to provide expert advice for your footwear needs to help combat and prevent a number of conditions, with Faith saying the podiatrists work with people of all ages. She said, “ We check your footwear for proper support and fitting. We give expert advice on orthotics, footwear, and foot hygiene. We support your children’s foot development, and we relieve pain from corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, verrucas, and so much more.”
The Limerick Podiatry Centre team treat a wide range of different conditions, such as hard skin calluses, painful corns, ingrown toenails, dry cracked skin, diabetic assessments, musculoskeletal assessments, thickened nails, routine care, and chiropody.

Faith said, “ We treat diabetic related foot complications, and we help make sure that your feet are in top shape with your diabetes and any other medical conditions, anything from skin conditions to bone abnormalities, any muscle, tendon, or ligament injuries, and we can do that by taping your foot, prescribing your orthotics, and recommending your footwear.”
The clinic’s range of services is available to patients of all ages, they said, “ We have young people coming in for verrucas, injuries, ingrown toenails, and all different sorts of conditions. We help give them exercises, rehabilitation, and we can help them to get back on their feet, get back into their sports, and get back to being themselves.”
Regular checkups are encouraged to maintain good foot health, with the staff saying it helps them build a relationship with their clients. Faith noted the welcoming environment, making a difference to service users, saying, “ I love the atmosphere in here. I think everyone is full of energy, and all our patients are always in great form. They’re always happy to come in, and we’re always happy to see them, so everyone is happy.”
Encouraging people to get a step ahead on their footcare, Faith noted that early intervention can help, “So remember, early care gives better outcomes, so book your appointment today at Limerick Podiatry Centre.”
