Prof Eugene O’Brien of the English Literature and Language department at Mary Immaculate College will launch the book. Prof O’Brien has described the collection as a “witty and thoughtful account of a quarter century of a very lived life”.

‘Quarter Life Crisis’ captures the chaotic, confusing, and often comical experience of leaving college behind and stumbling head-first into adulthood in modern Ireland. With an arresting blend of wit, sarcasm, and profound introspection, McNamara gives an unfiltered look at the unique struggles facing today’s twenty-somethings.

This collection is a must-read for anyone who has struggled to navigate life’s most disorienting decade. It’s the book you’ll want stuffed in your back pocket, dog-eared and weathered from being studied like a roadmap.

Published by Limerick’s Revival Press, the poetry imprint of the Limerick Writers’ Centre, ‘Quarter Life Crisis’ promises to be a standout debut in contemporary Irish poetry.

McNamara is a two-time All-Ireland Slam runner-up and two-time Munster slam champion and former Yeat’s Tower Slam Champion. She has won several other awards and residencies including being a former Dromineer and Nenagh Literary Festival writer in residence.

She has performed her plays Quarter Life Crisis 2018 (Galway Fringe Spoken Word Award) and Hello My Name is Single 2019 (Limerick Fringe Spirit of the Fringe Award) partially or fully in several cities around the world and is set to take to the Electric Picnic stage this year.

All are welcome to attend the launch event at the Belltable Theatre on Thursday, August 29 for refreshments and an evening of celebration.
