The virtual Pride Youth Festival is the result of the labour of young people from LYS who were keen to ensure the popular festival took place despite Covid-19.

‘For some LGBTQI+ young people the Covid 19 restrictions have been quite challenging as they may have had to hide their identity and true-self,’ explained Shelly Goggin, LYS.

‘Since March we have been engaging with and supporting them and they are all looking forward to this Pride Youth Festival which many of them help to organise,’ said Shelly, youth worker.

‘The Pride Youth Festival was truly a team effort and it was great to young people from the many LYS projects/groups support each other in organising the events,’ said Shelly.

For more information on the Pride Youth Festival, contact Shelly Goggin at [email protected] or call 061-412444/ 087-7055197.

Members of Youth Work Ireland and LYS commit to connecting with young people and supporting them to reach their full potential.
