The Limerick Printmakers and delighted to announce that the fourteenth annual Limerick Printmakers Winter Exhibition 2016 will take place at The Belltable from this November 25 to December 17.
The official opening of the exhibition will be held this Thursday, November 24 at 6pm and all are welcome to attend.
The gallery will be open from 12-5, Tuesday to Saturday and it is an exhibition surely not to be missed from those near and afar, with all pieces on show being available for purchase.
The exhibitions aim each year is to showcase the wide variety of unique and impressive work made in the Limerick Printmakers Johns Square Studio during the year by its members.
The range of methods and techniques on show includes woodcuts, collographs, book binding, digital prints, embossment, chine-collé, silkscreen prints, monoprints and various forms of etching including photo etching. The diversity that exists within both the members of Limerick Printmakers themselves and their chosen artistic practices ensure a stimulating and vibrant body of work.
The Limerick Printmakers artists featured in this year’s exhibition are: Ailbhe Barrett, Mike Byrne, Emer Casey, Sinead Dinneen, Pamela Dunne, Aine Finnegan, Deirdre Gallagher, Helena Grimes, Gavin Hogg, Dan Kenny, Joe Lane, David Lilburn, Yvonne Locke, Moya Ni Cheallaigh, Tony O’ Loughlin, Kate O’ Shea, Verona Stellet, Paul Tarpey, Clodagh Twomey and Isabella Walsh.
Printmaking is an affordable and accessible form of art, being of high quality and of a collectible nature which can be passed down through generations.
Limerick Printmakers group of members encompass practicing artists and printmakers, graphic designers and lecturers, with a strong representation of both established and current emerging artists. The work on show has been selected from a studio with over 50 members and showcases the very best of contemporary printmaking in the mid-west region.
