Limerick Printmakers Winter show at the Hunt Museum Limerick Friday 4th 2015 – Monday 4th 2016
Limerick Printmakers are proud to announce that the upcoming annual Limerick Printmakers Winter Members Exhibition will be exclusively displayed in The Hunt Museum from Friday 4th December to Monday 4th January 2015. The opening night of the exhibition will be held from 6pm on Thursday 3rd December with the acclaimed Irish artist Robert Ballagh as opening speaker.
Everyone is encouraged to visit The Hunt Museum for what is sure to be a vibrant start to the festive season.
This year marks the thirteenth Limerick Printmakers Winter Members Exhibition and will continue the high standards illustrated in previous years shows. The winter exhibition showcases the variety of work made in Limerick Printmakers Johns Square studio during the year by its members and each work is being exhibited in public for the first time.
Limerick Printmakers group of members encompass practicing artists and printmakers, graphic designers and lecturers, with a strong representation of both established and current emerging artists. The work on show has been selected from a studio with over 50 members and showcases the very best of contemporary printmaking in the mid west region.
The range of methods and techniques on show includes woodcuts, collographs, book binding, digital prints, embossment, chine-collé, silkscreen prints, monoprints and various forms of etching including photo etching. The diversity that exists within both the members of Limerick Printmakers themselves and their chosen artistic practices ensure a stimulating and vibrant body of work.
The Limerick Printmakers artists featured in the exhibition are Mike Byrne, Sinead Dinneen, Pamela Dunne, Deirdre Gallagher, Helena Grimes, Gavin Hogg, Carol Kennedy, Amanda Lee, David Lilburn, Mary Nagle, Moya Ní Cheallaigh, Tony O’ Loughlin, Suzannah O’ Reilly, Kate O’ Shea, Verona Stellet, Fiona Quill and Isabella Walsh.
As all work is available for purchase, this is a fantastic opportunity to view and acquire work by some of Limerick’s and Munster’s finest printmakers and to explore the most recent output of a fine art printmaking studio that has been in existence for over sixteen years. Printmaking is a very affordable and accessible form of art, being of high quality and of a collectable nature. Many of the members featured have exhibited nationally and internationally and are represented in some of the most respected public and private collections in Ireland & abroad.
