Committee Secretary Mark O’Connor said the group is happy to “link up” with the Quimper group for the second event.

Mr O’Connor said, “It is great to link up again with Lionel Poiroiraudeau on the Quimper side for our second exchange film event. This is just one of a range of projects that the twinning groups are looking to make happen in 2025.

“The recent visit of Quimper band O Tridal was a great night. And Lionel will be part of an event at the upcoming Limerick Literary Festival in February. Lots going on!”

The 2nd Film Exchange event will feature films from ELF (Emerging Limerick Film Makers), TUS and other local filmmakers.

On the Quimper side, there are a range of beautiful films to give a glimpse into their culture and continue our conversation across the Celtic sea.

The group said “All Francophones most welcome” to the Limerick and Quimper film exchange event.

Speaking about the inaugural event, O’Connor said, “This event is a wonderful way to share our storytelling and filmmaking traditions.  It should be fun to chat with the French side on the night too.  They’re having an Irish session to close out their event, and so we will have a few Breton and French tunes on our side to reciprocate!”
