The Impact Exhibition will run from May 6 -9.

We are delighted to announce ‘Impact’, an exhibition of 3rd year painting students from the Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD), in the Impact Trade Union building, Roxboro Road, Limerick. Opening on Tuesday the 6th of May from 6-8pm, it runs till the 9th of May. Curated by Aine Nic Giolla Coda, the exhibition will be opened by Ciaran Murphy.

In the centre of Limerick City ‘Impact’ the work these undergraduate students each engages with various independent concepts of contemporary art. This show emphasises the possibilities within contemporary painting, in terms of subject matter, technique, scale and interpretation of what contemporary painting is.

This exhibition is of a clearly disparate group of artists utilising a multitude of different strategies, who each come from a different art historical position. While this is an exhibition from the painting department at LSAD, not all of the artists paint. For those that do, and for those that don’t, each artist offers their interpretation of what contemporary art can be.
