Limerick Senior Football team announced for Tailteann Cup Final
Limerick Manager Jimmy Lee has announced his Limerick Senior Football side for their Tailteann Cup Final this Saturday, July 12 with no changes from their semi-final victory over Wicklow
Limerick Senior Footballers will send out an unchanged starting fifteen in Croke Park this Saturday for their Tailteann Cup final clash with Kildare, which is being played as part of a double-header with the All-Ireland Semi-Final between Kerry and Tyrone taking place at 5 pm after the Limerick game.
Limerick supporters will be eagerly waiting for the 2:30 pm throw-in this Saturday and will be happy with the positive news that injury scares to James Naughton and Emmet Rigter haven’t impacted the squad selection as both forwards are to start the game following their victory over Wicklow in the semi-final. Peter Nash remains up front for what has become a familiar attacking lineup for the team, as Limerick are relishing the opportunity to take on Kildare in the cup final.
Following their semi-final win over Wicklow, Jimmy Lee said the opportunity to return to Croke Park and to play in a national final ahead of the All-Ireland Semi Final is a massive opportunity for the side and is part of the journey Limerick Football is on.

He said, “It’s extremely big on the journey we’re trying to go on. This is not about this year; this is about the future. We are trying to build a path, and this is a stepping stone on it. It’s vital in our heads, but it’s not in the longer term of the picture. It’s a stepping stone, and we’ll keep going after them steps”
Saturday’s final will see Limerick aiming to crown a memorable campaign with silverware at in Croke Park as Kildare will be a tough opponent for the side.
The Limerick starting fifteen to take on Kildare are goalkeeper, Josh Ryan, with a back line of Josh Hassett, Darren O’Doherty, and Mark McCarthy; and a halfback line of Killian Ryan, Iain Corbett, and Tony McCarthy.
In the midfield and hoping to build on their strong partnership are Galtee Gaels’ Tommie Childs with Mungret St Paul’s Darragh O’Hagan. The midfield will be hoping to create some opportunities for a half-forward line of Paul Maher, with captain Cillian Fahy, and Danny Neville. Leading Limerick’s charge are Emmett Rigter, James Naughtan, and Peter Nash.
The team will be supported by a strong bench with Jeffrey Alfred, Cormac Woulfe, Tadgh O’Siochru, Conall O’Duinn, Barry Coleman, Sean Clancy, Diarmuid Buckley, Darrah Murray, Rory O’Brien, Andrew Meade, and Rob Childs.
