Limerick Institute of Technology is urging all students and staff to take part in 2017 Limerick Smarter Travel Marathon.
LIT urge all staff and students to take part in Limerick Smarter Travel programme
One of our biggest annual events, the Step Challenge, takes place in September with teams of walkers all around the country getting active, feeling better and having fun with their colleagues – and of course, winning great prizes!
Limerick Smarter Travel work with people in schools, campuses, workplaces and communities to help them to change their travel habits, cut their single occupancy car use and increase their active and sustainable travel. Your support is vital to make the programme a success, it’s the small everyday travel choices are the ones that really make a big difference. If you decide to make a change to your travel routine, you won’t be alone, you will be part of a much larger movement towards a healthier and more sustainable community.
At first, it may be difficult to change your travel pattern, and after the initial leap, it could take some getting used to. If you want to use your car a little less, help is at hand on the Limerick Smarter Travel Website. The benefits to your health, well-being, pocket and environment can last a lifetime, so keep trying it soon becomes a rewarding routine.
The Active Travel Logger is a website of the National Transport Authority, for Partners of the Smarter Travel Workplace and Smarter Travel Campus programmes. Smarter Travel Workplaces and Smarter Travel Campus are public awareness programmes working with employers and third level institutions to implement voluntary travel plans. As part of these plans, we offer Partners fun, free walking, cycling and public transport challenges, which are run through the Active Travel Logger.
Limerick Institute of Technology is urging all students and staff to take part in 2017 Limerick Smarter Travel Marathon. The LIT president also wants everyone to challenge his score and count your steps in the month of March to win prizes.
