More than 20 Irish bloggers went on a walking tour of Limerick last Friday, 9th December taking in a mix of Limerick retail stores where they enjoyed pop-up fashion shows and experience the city’s famed style culture.

The influential bloggers began the Limerick Style blogging event day with a champagne breakfast in the Savoy Hotel before visiting O’Donnell’s & Lily’s Boutique, Ryan’s Jewellers, Vision 2 Opticians, The Attic Bridal Boutique and The Ivory Closet. The fashionable day also incorporated a foodie flair with treats from The Savoy Hotel, Aroi, Hook & Ladder and Ted’s.

The Limerick Style blogging event was rounded off with a fantastic incentive for visiting bloggers to create the best blog about their time in Limerick.  Ronan Branigan, Managing Director, the Savoy Hotel has announced he will provide a five star prize for the winning blogger with a pampering stay in the Savoy and two return flights to New York for St Valentine’s Day.

Jacinta Khan, George Boutique Hotel, speaking on behalf of the organising committee said: “We had a fantastic day with some of Ireland’s top bloggers giving us an opportunity to promote the best of Limerick’s high-end retail offering at the most important time of year.

“All the bloggers waxed lyrical about Limerick and enjoyed the fantastic array of fashion, accessories and gift offerings available around Christmas time – they were overwhelmed with the welcome they received in Limerick.  We’re delighted that they all had such a good day and we’d like to particularly thank Ronan Branigan in the Savoy for providing such a fantastic prize for the winning blog.”

Said Laura Ryan, Head of Communications & Marketing at Limerick City and County Council: We were thrilled that #Limerickstyle was trending number one on Twitter and it was fantastic to see and hear just how much our visitors enjoyed their time in Limerick.  As well as enjoying our fashion stores, the bloggers also took time to enjoy the Christmas festivities in Limerick on Bedford Row and one event guest edited our Limerick.ie Instagram for the day.  Christmas is an ideal time to really promote what we do well and the #LimerickStyle event is an example of that – we look forward to working with retailers on more blogging events for 2017.”

The event was organised by local businesses, the Irish Blogger Agency and the Office of Communications & Marketing, Limerick City and County Council.
