Limerick Racecourse has partnered with  Summerfest in order to bring the event to life. The festival will host a crowd of 5000 attendees at the popular and prestigious racecourse.

The goal of Limerick SummerFest is to create a platform for everybody in Ireland, irrespective of their ethnicity, gender, race, or belief system to get involved in a socially beneficial event and to also promote Irish music, arts, and culture. The festival is also in support of Pieta, as mental health is an issue that needs to be raised more within the arts. Donations will be made to support the services of the organisation.

The organisers are encouraging those both within and outside Limerick to take part in the event and also volunteer. They believe that in volunteering for this event, we would be able to promote the inclusion and participation of Limerick residents.

Speaking about Limerick SummerFest 2022, Segun Samuel, Founder and Director of Communications at Limerick SummerFest said, “We are more than excited to finally be able to host a music and arts festival in Limerick. There has been a lot of planning and work into this event, and we intend to use this medium to engage with diverse communities all across Limerick and Ireland. Limerick is a diverse city, with thousands of international students and migrants coming in every year to either study or start a new life, and with this event, we intend to make Limerick a centre of excellence and also add value to the city life. We want people to visit Limerick city more and see what we do here. Limerick Summerfest highlights a fresh, fun, diverse, accessible, and exciting way to engage with the city of Limerick, and show that there is always more to Limerick. Diversity is one of our main key pillars. We feel this event is important for Limerick audiences to have access to and engage with. This festival is a perfect space to enable artists to come together as one voice in Limerick city. It’s been a tough two years leading to this time, and this event is an opening to regain social sanity, which is why we have also decided to use this as a medium to raise awareness about mental health issues.”

Limerick SummerFest is an annual event that hosts a collection of music, arts and culture in Limerick. The cultural and arts festival was founded by Oriowo Segun Samuel, an MA graduate from the University of Limerick. The goal of the festival is to be a recurrent event that creates a vibrant atmosphere of fun, entertainment, and inclusion for residents in and outside Limerick. While promoting arts, culture and music, the event aims at increasing the quality of city life in Limerick.
