Everyone is urged to get involved as it is the spirit of people that makes this charity event such a great annual occasion. The cycle is a great way to meet new people whilst supporting two very important charities in our community.

Limerick Suicide Watch is a suicide prevention group based in Limerick that patrols the bridges and banks of River Shannon at night to provide support to those at risk of suicide.

Donations to LSW will fund vital equipment, training, insurance, and maintenance of their base and ensure that all volunteers are equipped with necessary life-saving equipment.

The second beneficiary of the cycle is the Rape Crisis Midwest, which was started in 1980 by a group of women and men who were concerned about the lack of services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Since then, they have worked towards providing comprehensive information, professional support, and a quality counselling survivor for survivors of sexual abuse and violence.

In previous years, the annual Limerick to Ballybunion charity cycle has raised over €60K for several charities such as Milford Hospice and Dochas.

The significance of continuing these charity cycles is that the funds raised are vital in keeping local charities operating. LSW and Rape Crisis Midwest are very close to the hearts of a lot of cyclists that take part in this event each year.

“Let’s get cycling together again whilst supporting two good causes, with 100% of proceeds divided equally between both charities,” Limerick Suicide Watch said.

The entry fee to participate in this exciting event is €10.
