Limerick VHI 360 Health Centre Celebrates One Year Anniversary
VHI, Ireland’s largest health insurance provider, this week celebrated the one-year anniversary of its Limerick VHI 360 Health Centre based in Raheen Business Park. The Centre, which opened just over a year ago, is open to all VHI customers and offers rapid access to urgent care for minor injury and illness, as well as a range of health and wellbeing services delivered by a multidisciplinary team.
Over 10,000 patients have availed of the services offered by the Limerick VHI 360 Health Centre since it opened, with the vast majority of patients having accessed the clinic for unscheduled care, including X-Ray and other urgent care services. The physiotherapy services offered by the clinic have also proven extremely popular and staff has been involved in a number of pilot projects, including physiotherapy consultations in a virtual setting.
The Limerick Centre is an evolution of the successful VHI SwiftCare Clinic service, which has grown rapidly over the past 13 years. In addition to offering a broad range of minor illnesses and injury services that are synonymous with SwiftCare, the one-year-old facility offers health coaching with a focus on intervention and prevention services as well as physiotherapy, radiology, and orthopedic follow-up.
Speaking today, Dr. Lynda Keaveney, VHI 360 Health Centre, Clinical Director said: “Our mission at VHI is to help our customers and patients lead longer, stronger, and healthier lives. We opened the VHI 360 Health Centre back in December 2020 as part of VHI’s continuing efforts to grow and add to our services as well as to meet our ambitions to introduce innovative offerings which provide a more efficient and better patient experience.
“I am very proud to say that our dedicated staff has welcomed and cared for over 10,000 patients from Limerick and beyond over the past 12 months. We have also worked closely with our partner organisations to give back to the community in other ways, completing a 10k run last year to raise vital funds for Limerick’s Mental Health Association. Along with the rest of my colleagues at the centre, I look forward to welcoming more customers and patients over the coming year to care for them – not only when they have a minor illness or injury but also to help them manage their overall wellbeing.”
