Jennifer Hartnett is from Limerick and has been making a name for herself as a comedian in Los Angeles. Jennifer got her first gig by ringing up a comedy club, who only took professionals, and posed as her own manager to secure the gig. After that night the comedy club then booked her for another night and since then the club has been booking her for regular gigs.
When Jennifer set out for the United States after finishing her Leaving Cert at Salesians Secondary School, she did not go with the intentions that she would be perusing a career in comedy. In fact when she got to the states she worked with an Irish PR Company in San Francisco. After feeling courageous, Jennifer then left her PR job to join an improvisation troupe.
Since joining the improv group she has been building up her comedy career. She has featured in adverts such as Weight Watchers and Hollywood Jeans. She appears in California’s comedy hotpots such as: Comedy Store, Flappers Comedy and Jon Lovitz club.
Jennifer also makes a cameo on the popular page BuzzFeed, in their video ‘How to Win at Scrabble’ and co-hosts the online talk show ‘Blonde Ambition’ which you can check out here! Jennifer is currently writing and producing a hotel based sitcom ‘The Grand Disaster’, so as you can see she has a lot going on for her at the moment.
Jennifer has plenty to offer, her Irish wit and quirkiness shines through in her shows. This has been a big hit with American Audiences and has got her featured at the Irish Comedy Festival in the US, last August. In this festival she performed alongside Irish Comics, Joe Rooney from ‘Father Ted’ and Andrew Stanley from ‘Republic of Telly’. If you would like to keep up to date with any gigs that Jennifer has coming up, you can check out her website here.
