The pitch, which is located within Scanlon Park housing estate in Castleconnell, is holding excess water making it unplayable for many months of the year, so a massive fundraiser is planned to solve the problem.

The Lisnagry FC fundraiser, ‘Bras & Briefs – A Designer Warehouse Sale’, is on Saturday, October 30 from 10am – 5pm in Castleconnell Community Hall and promises to be a massive draw to everyone far and wide with incredible bargains to be found!

An extra preview night, ticket only, has been added on for VIPs to preview and purchase the brand new designer stock at massively discounted prices on Friday, October 29 from 5-8pm. To be added for the special VIP night simply email [email protected] to be added to the “VIP Preview Sale”.

Donations from the proceeds will also be made to the local group C-A-M Cancer Support & Down Syndrome Limerick.

Formed in 1982, Lisnagry Football Club plays an integral part in the local community based in the picturesque village of Castleconnell, Co. Limerick. The club’s aim is to be an inclusive club with a wide player base, catering for young and old, boys and girls.

Over the last 18 months a new committee has been formed who are determined to build the club to reach the heights it deserves. After recently applying for Sports Capital Funding for the Redevelopment of the Main pitch, Lisnagry FC has big desires on improving the sports facilities including a walking track, a Floodlit 7-a-side All Weather pitch, a Clubhouse and Men’s Shed’s.

This Lisnagry FC fundraiser is just the first step of a mammoth task for reimagining this important community facility.

“We believe Lisnagry Football Club’s ethos of inclusion & fun is a great fit for our group. We look forward to the day when our members are exercising and playing soccer at Scanlan Park’s new facilities,” said Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick.

So ladies, stick the date in your diaries and get ready to grab some fantastic bargains! And for the gents, it might be the perfect opportunity to pick up some early Christmas presents!

“We are very excited for this upcoming fundraiser to improve our wonderful facility. We firmly believe that sport is hugely important in its promotion of tolerance and respect, and that with proper facilities at our grounds we will be able to attract many new members from this locality alone,” said Greg Coulter, Lisnagry FC Chairperson.
