Limerick’s Live 95FM again displays the power of radio

101,000 or 64% of Limerick listeners tune into Live 95FM every week.

Limerick’s Live 95FM is again the most listened to radio station in Limerick City and County. The popularity of the radio station is clear as 64% or over 100,000 Limerick people tune-in to Limerick’s Live 95FM weekly, according to the latest Ipsos/MRBI JNLR radio listenership figures published this week, covering the 12 months to the end of September 2018.

Station Director of Live 95FM, Joe Nash said “We are pleased and proud to have maintained our position as the most listened to radio station in Limerick. The power of radio in general is obvious from this survey, showing 83% of Limerick people are tuning-in to a radio station every day. We are honoured to play our part and serve the people of Limerick – they are at the forefront of everything we do on a daily basis.”

“I also want to sincerely thank the team on the air and behind the scenes here at the radio station, whose ability and hard work continue to deliver a service that the listeners of Limerick tune-in to, in significant numbers and thanks are also due to our loyal advertisers, for their continuing support,” he said.

Live 95FM provided wall-to-wall ‘live’ coverage of the build-up to the All-Ireland Hurling Final, commentary of an epic Limerick win, the aftermath and the fantastic homecoming to the City and County, following a 45 year wait.

Live 95FM’s ‘95 Stop Tour for Limerick Kids 2018’, the station’s major annual charity initiative for ill and vulnerable children took place in a cumulative week-long event from the 17th of September to the 21st of September ending in an all-day broadcast in Bank of Ireland Workbench, O’Connell Street on the Friday. The beneficiaries this year are the Children’s Ark/Neo-Natal Unit at the University Hospital Limerick, Cliona’s Foundation and CARI. An announcement of the funds raised will take place later in the year.

Live 95 FM was honoured to have two entries shortlisted in this year’s IMRO National Radio Awards: ‘Remembering Dolores’ in the Current Affairs Programme category and the 95 Stop Tour in the Community/Social Action category, and were subsequently delighted to win gold for its entry ‘Remembering Dolores’.
