Adam, who grew up in Baldoyle, Dublin, is no stranger to taking on new challenges and developing his potential. Thirty years ago this year, when he was 18, he left home for London. A former musician who played bass guitar and sang, he busked in Dublin and London in his earlier years.

Then he worked for seven years with Getty Images, the American stock photo agency, in London. His original role was in corporate development but he later became a director of the company. He loved his career but began thinking more and more of changing direction. This was fuelled by his interest in Buddhism and meditation. “I was 36 when I decided to take a year off. (I am still on a break 12 years later!). Everything was going very well for me at Getty. I was financially fine, I had a lot of stock options. I really enjoyed my job, it was not about leaving, it was about discovering a new life. I’ve never been very attached to money or possessions which helped me [make my choice].” He went to a Buddhist Meditation Centre. He says he always had a leaning towards Buddhism.

In his younger days, he was deeply influenced by a Christian Brother – the late Br Kevin Carr – with whom he became good friends. “At eight or nine I would drop into the Christian Brothers monastery and I’d sit in the chapel. I was touched by Br Kevin’s compassion and kindness. That was the trigger that led me to Buddhism. In my mid-twenties, I started to read about it and meditate. I always had an urge in me to explore something more deeply.” Adam went on to teach Buddhism, first in England and later in Denmark. He found the work “really meaningful”. “My partner who is English wanted to come to Ireland. She loved it here and we came back in August. I was asked to teach [in Ireland] in December.”

In this living fearlessly workshop with Kadam Adam, we can create a life filled with inner peace, happiness & freedom, from the inside out.Our anxieties and fears can stop us moving forward or taking on new challenges that will improve our life and lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. In this workshop, we will be introduced to meditations and practices for daily life to change this.

We will learn how to face our fears and let them go, with a sense of courage and peace of mind. We will discover how to use our fears as a catalyst for positive change in our lives and to find freedom from limitations. In this way, we learn how to live fearlessly, growing our inner strength, confidence, happiness, and sense of fulfillment day by day.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with more experience of meditation. It will include talks, guided meditations and time for Q&A. These methods work for anyone, in any country, at any age, of any faith or otherwise. Everybody is welcome.
