Barnardos, with the kind support of Dell Technologies Ireland, along with Former Grand Slam winner, Current Elite IRFU Rugby Referee and Barnardos Ambassador Joy Neville today launched their local call for volunteers in Limerick.

The children’s charity, who work with more than 17,600 children each year and has two centres in Limerick, needs valuable volunteers for their National Collection Day, kindly supported by Dell, on Friday, September 13. People are welcome to lend a hand between 8am – 9pm for any 2 hour shift.

By shaking a bucket or joining an in store bag pack for just two hours, each volunteer can raise up to €100 for vulnerable children in their community.

Barnardos Ambassador Joy Neville spoke at the launch, saying “It is such a pleasure to be here today with Barnardos calling on fellow Limerick locals to support their National Collection Day 2019. Barnardos is a cornerstone of support for children and families in communities across Limerick city and county, providing a safe space for the most vulnerable amongst us. Stepping out to support them on September 13th means you will be helping to provide services for children in your own locality, from afterschool and breakfast clubs to supporting parents in the home. Giving your time means the children in communities in Limerick will benefit so I urge the people of Limerick to step out and join Barnardos as a volunteer this September.”

Barnardos CEO Suzanne Connolly said Barnardos National Collection Day is always a very special day for us, not least because we see the mammoth support we have in communities across the country. Each year the people of Limerick have rallied and stepped out to support the children and families we work with across the county, with many volunteers returning time and again to enjoy the feel-good factor that volunteering can bring. Each and every volunteer has made a difference, and can continue to do so by joining us again on September 13th. We’re also so grateful to our sponsor, Dell Technologies, who have supported us tirelessly ensuring the success of our National Collection day grows year on year. Join us on September 13th and help provide a brighter future for children in communities throughout Limerick www.barnardos.ie/buckets”.

Sean O’Reilly,  Vice-President, EMEA Logistics and Acting Site Leader, Dell Technologies Limerick said “As we enter the third year of our official partnership with Barnardos, the team at Dell Technologies Ireland continue to be inspired by the positive impact that Barnardos is having on children and families across Ireland. Our team members in Limerick, Dublin and Cork have come together to organise a number of fundraising events for this deserving cause and they are using their talents and skills to make this year’s National Collection Day the most successful yet. As a company committed to driving positive societal change in communities every day, we’re encouraging others in Limerick and throughout Ireland to join us in supporting Barnardos in whatever way possible.”
