The podcast evolved from Louise’s virtual book club in 2020, and will be built around open and honest conversations and will be framed through the lens of passion for reading.

Hailing from Dooradoyle, Louise began blogging in 2014 and it has been a full-time job ever since. Over the years, she has shared a lot of life experiences with her followers, from living in Dublin to moving to New York, before returning home during the pandemic.

In 2016, the Limerick lady won Best Fashion Blog in the Blog Awards Ireland. In 2017, she was awarded a ’40 Under 40′ Award for her achievements in the blogging world, as well as a U Magazine ’30 under 30′ Award in the fashion industry category. In 2019, Louise was awarded Most Stylish Online Influencer at the VIP Magazine Awards.

Louise will welcome some established voices to the GoLoud Studios to discuss life lessons and the escapism of reading on her new podcast. ‘Open Book’ will be a platform for writers, as well as literature lovers and casual readers, to delve into their inspirations and aspirations in long-form, free-flowing conversations with Louise.

In the first episode of the podcast, Louise introduced author Louise O’Neill to the studio to discuss her obsession with reading while growing up, her career and writing style, and the many challenges that come with literary fame.

The interview touches on the Cork writer’s newest book ‘Idol’ that explores the duplicitous world of online influencers. In the interview, the two Louise’s discuss topics such as consent, eating disorders, cancel culture and the authenticity of influencers.

“I am so excited to tell you about my brand-new podcast, Louise Cooney’s Open Book. It is a GoLoud original and new episodes will be released every Wednesday at 1pm,” Louise commented on her new venture.

“The podcast is for everyone, even if you’re a novice or expert. Don’t be scared if you haven’t read in years.”
