The annual success of the Team Limerick clean up 4 (TLC) is ready to take place for its fourth year this Good Friday, March 30
Paul OConnell and TLC 4 launch the Loving Limerick competition
Paul O’Connell, a major figure in the Limerick clean up and Loving Limerick competition, joined the Mayor of Limerick yesterday, Stephen Keary and pupils from Scoil Iosaf Girls’ NS at The Red Door Gallery, Newcastle West for the launch of the Team Limerick clean up 4 and the ‘Loving Limerick’ competition. At last years Launch Paul said “It’s important that the Team Limerick Clean-up initiative is not just about the one–day event on Good Friday, we would really like to see young kids becoming more aware of their local communities and the need to keep them litter free all year round. This competition is one way to keep TLC relevant and we’ve received great feedback so far with over 30 schools entered to date and we look forward to more schools registering with us over the coming days”.
To celebrate Limerick clean up 4, primary schools all across Limerick are invited to take part in an amazing competition for Valentines Day. This will include classes having to design and decorate a big love heart to portray and celebrate their great love for Limerick and the Limerick clean up 4. Their artistic creations will be displayed at The Hunt Museum in Limerick city over this upcoming Valentines week.

The schools who win the competition will receive amazing vouchers for new school equipment. The Loving Limerick competition is divided into three different categories. These being category A: Junior Infants to First class; category B: Second class to Fourth class and category C: Fifth class and Sixth classes. The Limerick post mentioned that while Paul O’Connell was commenting on Limerick clean up 4 and the competition he said; “TLC3 was Europe’s largest ever one-day clean-up with over 16,500 people taking to the streets of Limerick and we intend to continue this growth for TLC4. Volunteers can keep up to date with details of TLC4 on our website and social media pages.”
The Limerick Post wrote that Paul added, “The Valentines competition is a fun, innovative way to further educate young kids on the importance of keeping their communities clean all year round. We have received really positive feedback so far and it looks like over 200 love hearts will be on display in The Hunt Museum this Valentines!” It seems like the Limerick clean up 4 is in full swing for 2018! Team Limerick Clean-Up4 (TLC4), is an initiative sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund, and supported by Limerick City and County Council. Endorsed by Paul O’Connell, the official partners include Mr Binman, The Limerick Leader and Limerick Live 95FM.
