Built on the foundation of 20 years of friendship and an undeniable adoration for music & antiques, David Irwin and Mark Sheehan bring us the quirky and eccentric shopping experience of Lucky Lane.

Lucky Lane is located in the heart of the city on Catherine St. and the store sits directly across from Sage café. It is a vibrant store appealing to all ages with various items available to purchase. Everything from vintage women’s fashion and jewellery, furniture, plants, music records and old school comics are sold here. Lucky Lane first opened in 2013 and owner David Irwin tells me that “We are going into our 3rd and definitely busiest year!” Lucky Lane was also voted #1 shopping outlet in Limerick city by Trip Advisor in the recent past.

Both second hand and new items are available to purchase and you can be assured that David and Mark work closely with various suppliers to exclusively select only the best for their store. Designers such as Calvin Klein and Diane Von Furstenburg are on display upon the clothing rails and retro X-Men and Wolverine comics decorate the walls which only enhances this already majestic shopping experience.

Lucky Lane also work very closely with a variety of Limerick based charities. Some of these charities include Cliona’s Foundation, Clare’s Wish, Limerick Mental Health Association, CSPP Suicide Prevention and the Learning Hub. Lucky Lane supports these charities by donating a portion of their profits to them regularly.

David also spoke passionately about his store in a musical context. With both David and Mark having such a strong connection with music it is only natural that this passion is translated through their business. The relaxed and rustic vibe within Lucky Lane is primarily down to the music you hear as soon as you explore the store. A mixture of blues, gospel and classical music filters the air as you shop.

Handcraft “Pingin” jewelry designed and created from copper wire by a native Limerick lady, Aideen McLoughlin is also available to purchase in Lucky Lane. Pingin jewelry is beautifully handcrafted and Aideens intricate attention to detail on her pieces cannot be overlooked.

Lucky Lane is open from 10am – 5pm on Tuesday – Saturday. They can be found on Facebook at and on twitter at . Don’t forget to also check out their own official website for the store which provides some more essential info about Lucky Lane.

As David told me himself “Lucky Lane is an indoor market designed to be different to any other shopping experience in town” and once you step inside the store you definitely won’t argue with this statement.
