Pike Rovers FC has announced details for the inaugural Luke Grimes Memorial Tournament set to take place on Saturday, August 15, to honour Luke, who sadly passed away in September 2025.

The Limerick team has put a call out to the Limerick Junior and Senior Soccer community to support the tournament, which sees four teams take to the Pike Rovers pitch.

Announcing the tournament and remembering Luke, Pike Rovers FC said, “Luke played a big part in the early successes of our B Team who had reentered the league after a couple of years away, and it is only fitting the B Team will represent the club in the tournament.

A passionate Manchester United fan, locally, Luke’s love for the game was felt strongly at Pike Rovers, where he was not just a supporter of the club but was a player and went on to be a manager for the club.

Putting out the call to the wider community, Pike Rovers said, “We’re asking all the Limerick Junior & Senior Soccer community to come together and show your support on the day as we honour the memory of Luke Grimes.”

The Luke Grimes Memorial Tournament will take place on Saturday, August 15 at Pike Rovers, and a start time is yet to be announced, with details being finalised for the event.
