Mary Immaculate College sees first preference and CAO Points Increase

Mary Immaculate College has seen total number of first preferences increase by 2% with the total number applications increasing by 1%.  CAO Points for a number of programmes have also risen or remained at the same level since last year.

The Bachelor of Education (B Ed) is up by five points with almost fifty percent of those offered places attaining 500 points or more in the Leaving Certificate.  There has been a strong demand for places on the B Ed programme with a rise in the number applying this year.

The B Ed. (Education and Psychology), a highly sought-after programme and the only one of its type in Ireland that attracts applicants from across the country, has seen a rise of 10 points to 560. Such is the popularity of this programme that the cut-off points (560) significantly exceed those for any other psychology or teaching programme in Ireland.

The BA in Liberal Arts, which is experiencing continued growth in popularity, is up by 10 points (to 335) and the BA in Early Childhood Care and Education remains the same as last year at 360 points.
