Mayor Keary said “I went with the expectation of seeing your typical play centre but was not prepared for what was in store for me. Words can’t describe Dreamland, it was beyond my belief and to think it’s right here in Limerick and not in some other country. It is certainly a major tourist attraction for the Mid-west region and Ireland after meeting families from Mayo, Kerry and Tipperary in the centre today.”

Dreamland Limerick the creation and brainchild of Shay Kinsella, Founder of the Share a Dream Foundation is a truly magical place the kind you can only find in storybooks or a child’s wonderful imagination.  Dreamland is a fully inclusive and accessible centre and is a tribute to the Irish community who supported and believed in Shay’s dream and legacy.

Nowhere else but in Dreamland can parents (and grandparents) whizz down the Magic slide,  become a pilot on the Flight of Dreams, get a makeover in Girls world, go shopping in the Dreamland Supermarket, become a real Firefighter, be a Prince or Princess in the Castle of Dreams,  climb the Tree of Life,  get a check-up in the Toy hospital, escape to Dreamscape, hang out with Pirates and Jack Sparrow, meet Ollie the Octopus in Under the Sea and still lots to be done on the construction site!

Recently Dreamland was the only indoor play centre featured in the Irish Times as one of the top play attractions in the country and the ultimate birthday party venue.

In just 6 months since opening, Dreamland has become a major tourist attraction for Limerick with schools, clubs and families from all over the country visiting. To see able bodied and disabled children all playing together – Its Magic!

All funds raised go to ensure the charity Share a Dream continues making dreams come true for children all over Ireland fighting terrible life threatening illnesses.

Share a Dream receive no funding so if you think you can help through fundraising, sponsorship etc. Share a Dream can be contacted at 061200080 or [email protected]

Mayor Keary finished by saying “It’s such a well thought out and very worthy project and I want to wish Shay Kinsella and all his team well in this fantastic venture. I would encourage families to use it and I will continue to promote it during my time in office.”
