Mid West Simon Community hosted Burger BBQ’s for clients in their services in Limerick and Ennis as part of National Burger Day. A great day was had by all with many delicious burgers devoured and the sun even shone for the duration of the bbq’s. All burgers were kindly donated by Kepak. National Burger Day was sponsored by Kepak, and supported by Flipdish, Blenders, Coughlans and Kilmeadan.

With every burger purchased and photo shared online with the hashtag #nationalburgerday, a meal was donated to Simon Communities and a total of 16,000 meals were donated to Simon Communities (including Mid West Simon). An increase of 2,000 meals donated from last year’s figure of 14,000 meals.
Congratulations to Ireland’s Best Burger Winner Flipside in Sligo which was announced on National Burger Day, August 12, 2021 – an event sponsored by Kepak, and supported by Flipdish, Blenders, Coughlans and Kilmeadan. Also, congratulations to Bun Bros, Ennis for being voted the Best Burger Takeaway Chain in Munster.

Mid West Simon Community was established in October 2006. Covering the counties of Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary, the aim of the organisation is to support people through their journey out of homelessness by providing appropriate accommodation and care services, tailored to their individual needs.
