The Midwest Biker Christmas Fundraiser 2015 will take place again this year. They are a group of motorcyclists, the majority are from the Munster area. They occasionally have visitors from outside the region, only when the weather permits. They spend much of their time volunteering for various charities across the region, but mainly in the Munster region.
A recent event that the group were involved in was the “Murder of Crows” second Annual Halloween Benefit Bash, back in October of this year. The event was a major success and all involved, children and adults included, enjoyed the day.
Every year for twelve consecutive years, the group have organised Christmas season events, for the benefit of children in need across the region. The tradition is that Santa visits children in the Munster region, who need Christmas cheer the most. The group of Motorbikers bring Santa, on a motorbike with a sidecar around the Munster area to meet as many children as possible, and deliver presents.
Over the years, even during financially difficult times, motorcyclists from all over the country have given their time and donations in order to keep this event running. The Midwest Bikers greatly appreciate all the work, time and effort the motorcycling community commit to this event. Their aim has always been to help the children who need the Christmas cheer the most. They have supported and funded events for children with special needs and those from under-privileged backgrounds for many years. The group have expressed their excitement for the 2015 Christmas event. They are really looking forward to Santa’s visit St. Anne’s Special School in Ennis and Our Lady of Lourdes Community Centre in Limerick.
