Milford Care Centre has announced details for its 2026 10km Run/Walk Fundraiser on Sunday, February 22

Milford Care Centre has announced details for its annual 10km Run/Walk Fundraiser on Sunday, 22nd February 2026, celebrating its 14th year.

The annual walk is a key fundraising event for the charity and brings the community together to support the work Milford Care Centre delivers across the MidWest.

Participants are invited to join the race at 12 noon at the starting line on the University of Limerick campus in Castletroy, Limerick, or take part virtually from anywhere in Ireland or beyond!

This inclusive event, proudly supported by DELL Technologies and Stryker, welcomes runners and walkers of all fitness levels. Every step you take helps make a real difference, with all proceeds directly supporting Milford Care Centre’s services.

Five-time All-Ireland winning Limerick Senior Hurler Gearóid Hegarty officially launched Milford Care Centre’s annual 10km event. He said, “I’m proud to support and raise awareness for the incredible work Milford Care Centre does for our community. The services they provide are critical and deliver tremendous benefit to communities throughout the MidWest.

“I encourage everyone to get involved and help Milford raise the funds they need to continue providing compassionate care. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, 22nd February.”

Mary O’Brien, CEO of Milford Care Centre, expressed her gratitude to DELL Technologies and Stryker for their unwavering support of this event, and to all participants for joining in.

She said, “We are delighted to welcome every participant to our first flagship fundraiser of 2026. Your involvement and generosity are vital in helping us raise the funds needed to sustain Milford Care Centre’s services.

“Thanks to your support, we can continue delivering specialist palliative care and older persons’ services throughout the Mid-West. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved and wish all participants, near and far, the very best of luck in this event.”
