Milford Care Centre host Coffee Morning as part of the nationwide Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice

As part of the nationwide Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice, Milford Care Centre proudly hosted its own Coffee Morning on September 25.
The event took place in the Milford Restaurant and brought together guests, service users, volunteers, residents and staff for a wonderful morning of entertainment, conversation and community togetherness.
Across the Midwest region, Coffee Morning hosts were brewing and baking, giving so selflessly of their time and energy to support the incredible and often unseen work that hospices nationwide carry out every day.
Speaking at the Coffee Morning, Mary O’Brien, Chief Executive Officer of Milford Care Centre, expressed her gratitude, “We are so grateful to each and every host, and to all who attend and contribute to the Coffee Mornings, which are taking place in households, companies, schools, and community centres, all contributing, to raise funds in support of the services we provide.
“It is incredible to witness such generosity, a cup of coffee can make a big difference. If anyone is still considering hosting a Coffee Morning later this month, there is still time to do so.”
A highlight of the morning was the Star Baker competition, where staff showcased their baking talents in an impressive display of cakes and treats.

The display was judged by an esteemed panel: Mike Tweedie, Head Chef of the Michelin-starred Oak Room at Adare Manor; Maureen King and Imeda Bourke of The Pantry Kilkee and Adam English, Limerick Senior Hurler.
The competition was fierce and staff thoroughly enjoyed the occasion with plenty of laughter and a touch of surprise at the identity of the guest judges identities were revealed. Guests enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere as they sampled delicious treats and celebrated Brewley’s Big Coffee Morning, now in its 33rd year, all while supporting Milford Care Centre. Importantly, all funds raised will stay local to help provide essential services to patients and families across the region.
