Milford Hospice
Milford Hospice provides the highest quality of care to patients, family and friends in areas of palliative care and services to the older people. Milford Care Centre believe that the people deserve only the best care while using their services and they try to achieve that through their continuous improvement policies and training.
Milford Care Centre is a voluntary, not for profit organisation and registered charity. Milford Care Centre has a strong partnership with the Health Service Executive but funds from the HSE don’t cover all expenses. Over 30% of funding for Milford Care Centre comes from donations and fundraising events and ideas that the local community carry out throughout the year as well as the ongoing support of the annual Milford Hospice Harvest Fair. Last year alone Milford Hospice cared for close to 1,250 individual patients.
Milford Care Centre provides a wide range of services including Milford Hospice, Milford Nursing Home and the Milford Day Care Centre. As well as this the care centre also have an Education, Research and Professional Development service that provides a range of palliative care and gerontology courses both in-house and on-line.
Milford Care Centre have recently launched The Compassionate Communities Project to get people to think differently about death, to encourage people to plan ahead, talk with others and offer useful support within the community to those in their last few months or days.
