July is not going to be a silent month for Limerick as Irish electronic producer Jack Colleran (Mmoths) from Newbridge, Kildare takes Kasbah Social Club tomorrow night to entertain.
Jake Colleran who goes by the name Mmoths when performing has released his debut album Luneworks in March and has released two EPs previously to that.

Colleran managed to hold a musical interest from a family that wasn’t very musical at all. He’s previously described to the Irish Times that his mother would listen to Mary Black or Frances Black in the car but that was ‘as far as it went’.
Mmoths had always had a curiosity and played piano from a young age and played only classical pieces until he was about 13 years old. He has stated that the first CD he ever bought was the Milkshake single by Kelis which was an amazing change for him.
As the years went on, Colleran decided to learn how to produce music and used the music-making software Ableton. When starting, he would download sample packs and rip material off of YouTube.
He has come a long way since and has over 35,000 monthly listeners on music apps such as Spotify. His album Luneworks is an absolute pleasure to listen to and transitions beautifully as it goes from one track to the next. His music uses haunting vocals that merge with synthesisers with organ chords that carry the song along. Each song is certainly not the same as Colleran experiments with different instruments, sounds and styles of music.
Mmoths album is available on iTunes as well as Spotify so give his music a listen because he has incredible talent and be sure to come down to his gig tomorrow at Kasbah Social Club, doors open at 10pm.
