Molli-Ann O’Halloran from Limerick City has been named Limerick’s 2023 Rose at a sold-out event on Sunday, April 23

The Limerick Rose was announced at a sold-out event on Sunday, April 23.

The 18-year-old’s name was announced at around 11pm last Sunday, April 23rd to a sold-out event at the Woodlands Hotel & Spa, Adare. Entrants came from the length and breadth of the county, including Newcastle West, Bruff, Crecora, Athea and Croom.

Molli-Ann who represented ASD Ireland, an organisation close to her heart, is a student at the University of Limerick where she is studying voice in the Irish World Academy. Molli-Ann has had a passion for music and is employed by Shannon Heritage as a singer at Bunratty Castle.

Molli-Ann is a huge advocate for people with autism and hopes to spread awareness and show that anything is possible. Molli-Ann stole the judges & audience’s hearts by signing “Part Of Your World”.

The atmosphere at the Woodlands Hotel and Spa was electric – We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this year’s event. All the Rose entrants were of extremely high calibre and Molli-Ann will make a superb ambassador for Limerick as the 2023 Limerick Rose” said Lori Humphreys, coordinator of the Limerick Rose Centre.

Limerick Rose judges, John Marren, 2015 Rose of Tralee International Escort, Bríd Richardson, 2010 Limerick Rose and Nell Stritch, Artist and Owner of Pressed Flowers by Nell on Roche’s Street, Limerick assessed each entrant through individual and group interviews, as well as their stage interviews during the Selection Night.

MC Ollie Turner from Galway Bay FM, did a fantastic job of keeping the audience entertained and also ensuring each Rose enjoyed their time on stage. A raffle was held with all proceeds going to Dochas Autism MidWest – Charity partner of the 2023 Limerick Rose Centre.

Local businesses gave generously to the Limerick Rose and Molli-Ann receives the following prizes: Outfits from The Ivory Closet, White Feather Boutique, Annette’s Boutique, Ella Maria Boutique, Kimono Boutique, Earls and Pearls Boutique, Hair & Makeup from Catherine Hickey, Nails by The Nail & Beauty Lounge, Accessories from Glitz and Bitz Limerick and Headpieces from Antoinette’s Hats & Ayres & Graces Hats along with much more!

Molli-Ann was presented with a bouquet of roses kindly gifted by Lawless Flowers on Roches St Limerick.

Molli-Ann now has just a few months to prepare for the International Festival which this year is held from Fri, Aug 18, 2023 – Tue, Aug 22, 2023. The class of 2023 Limerick Roses are looking forward to getting behind Mollie-Ann as she prepares for her journey to Tralee.
