Monaleen will once again come alive with the sights and sounds of Christmas as Tony Bradley unveils his much-loved Animated Christmas Window for the eighteenth consecutive year. What began nearly two decades ago as a simple festive display has grown into one of the most cherished family Christmas traditions for communities across Limerick, Clare, and Tipperary.

Each year Tony transforms the front window of his home at 4 Heatherdale, Old Schoolhouse Road into a spectacular world of Christmas magic. The display features a wide array of animated carnival scenes, twinkling lights, festive characters, and new surprises added annually. The window has become a joyful destination for families, with many returning year after year to experience the wonder and warmth it brings.

The official opening will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, December 5, with music provided by the renowned Limerick Boherbuoy Brass and Reed Band, performing a selection of favourite Christmas melodies. Visitors can enjoy mince pies and mulled wine, while children are treated to chocolates each evening.

The animated display operates each evening from 4.45 pm to 9 pm and by request outside these hours.

This is a Free display, and a donation box is available at the display with donations going to the local and very worthwhile Charity Monaleen Cancer Support Group.

Tony, who dedicates weeks of work to creating the display, receives hundreds of cards and messages of thanks every year. “Seeing the smiles, excitement, and laughter on children’s faces is what makes it all worthwhile,” he says.

The Animated Christmas Window is open to all and has become a heartwarming reminder of the true spirit of community, generosity, and Christmas joy.
