This performance at the UCH in Limerick will be the first and grand opening of their seven-day tour through Ireland – the orchestra will furthermore touch base in Cork and Dublin. Under the direction of Jason Kneebone, the orchestra will perform a variety of works from Grieg, Piazzolla, Beethoven and a unique commissioned piece by David Close – which will be performed together with the Limerick School of Music Choir. The concert will be opened by the Limerick School of Music Senior Orchestra, under the direction of Anna Jane Ryan.

Over the past number of years, under the leadership of David O’ Connell and Martine Barry, the Limerick School of Music Senior Orchestra have performed all over Ireland, highlights including the National Concert Hall Dublin, City Hall Cork and UCH Limerick.

The orchestra consists of Limerick’s finest student musicians, who meet once a week to rehearse. Since September 2014 the orchestra has been under the direction of Anna Jane Ryan and a team of tutors. The orchestra’s most recent ventures include hugely successful collaborations with Cork ETB Youth Orchestra, Galway Youth Orchestra and St Pius V High School. Other recent performances include concerts in UCH and Millennium Theatre, Limerick, St. Mary’s Cathedral, Limerick and Seapoint Ballroom, Galway.

Tickets 10 euro – Senior citizens and students 5 euro. For more info go HERE. (https://www.uch.ie/event/mountain-view-high-school-orchestra/)
