Young Munster U14 Members enjoying success

On Friday last Mr. Tait’s Cafe launched its innovative Sports Package by hosting the RBS 6 Nations Cup. The Cafe hosted Young Munsters U14’s team who were heading to Frankfurt to take part, as invited guests in the annual SC 1880 Tournament. Mr. Taits Café is located at Tait House Community Enterprise, Collins Ave, Roxboro Rd, Limerick.

The event was attended by Mayor Michael Sheehan who stated “what a great idea this is, to provide a meeting space, good atmosphere, a great breakfast and a healthy lunch for teams before they set out on a long journey while at the same time supporting the local community”.

The sports package is the idea of Tait House Community Enterprise CEO, Tracey Lynch who spotted a niche in the market when some of the local groups heading off had no comfortable meeting point for parents where they could participate in the lively atmosphere with a traveling team. They have been doing a lively trade since opening in October 2014 and have recently hosted a French Rugby team along with numerous local community events in the comfortable surroundings.

“At Mr. Tait’s Cafe, we offer clubs a secure drop off/collection point, ample parking for buses and cars, a range of breakfast/lunch options for the traveling team along with a healthy, nutritious packed lunch for those traveling to take with them,” said Tracey Lynch. We are always looking for better ways to meet the needs of our customers.

As a social enterprise they are in a position to offer this service at a very competitive and reasonable rate. Mr Taits’ Cafe was set up as a social enterprise in the beautiful grounds of Tait House on Collins Avenue just off Roxboro Road to provide training and employment to the community, as such, any profit made is reinvested back into local initiatives.

Young Munster Underage Committee Chairperson Ciaran O Callaghan said “We have been provided with support from Tait House for some time now in terms of support with funding options, registering with the Public Participation Network etc..Equally we provide support volunteering at their events such as the Team Limerick Clean up so it’s a great relationship to have with a local community group. The sports package is a great option for all sports clubs especially for underage teams traveling. We were given a great send off with great food.”

I am delighted to give the teams a great send off and as a parent it s great to have the opportunity to participate in the fun and banter before they go on their sporting journey. We cater for any size group and enjoy this part of our work immensely.
