There was a massive response to the Circuit of Munster Charity Tractor Run which took place on Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27.

In total eight vintage tractors took off from Newport and travelled over 300 KM touching on 6 counties in just two days, all in aid of two very special beneficiaries.

In total €19,000 was raised by the Munster Charity Tractor Run for the two beneficiaries, Clionas Foundation and the Children’s Grief Centre.

€2,000 of the overall amount raised was donated to the Limerick Red Cross Ukraine appeal who are working towards providing health facilities, infrastructure and food and water items to people currently in war-torn Ukraine.

Clionas Foundation, which is a national charity that assists directly parents of children with life-limiting or chronic complex care needs throughout Ireland to help with the non-medical expenses for their child was presented a cheque for €8,450 by the team of drivers.

“We were blown away by the generosity of the participants, organisers and all who supported,” said Clionas Foundation.

“We were privileged to meet with the crew and receive a cheque for €8,450 which will make a real difference to a number of families on our waiting list,” they said.

Children’s Grief Centre, a support service available for school-aged children and young people affected by loss through death, separation and divorce was presented by the drivers with a cheque of €8,450.

“We are very grateful to be the recipients along with our friends at Cliona’s foundation,” the Children’s Grief Centre commented on the generous donation.

Along the organisers were Ian and Colette Acheson and Kieran Lillis who spent their time organising the event

“This is a perfect example of a community making good things happen and making a real difference to so many others thanks to their energy, passion and commitment,” Clionas Foundation added.
