Munster GAA has received €200,000 from the National GAA Finance Committee for the purpose of an Urban Club Development Grant in the Province.
Munster GAA has begun a process of identifying a number of urban clubs that may qualify for this grant and select 1 such club to go forward to the National GAA Finance Committee for approval or otherwise, with a deadline of Wednesday, July 23.

Munster GAA has received €200,000 from the National GAA Finance Committee for the purpose of an Urban Club Development Grant in the Province.

The Strategic Club Grant aims to support the growth of larger GAA clubs based in urban areas, where an ‘urban’ area is considered as having a growing population and the GAA Club can show continually increasing GAA playing numbers and increased team numbers over the previous three years.

The applying club will need to demonstrate a facility shortage based on growing playing numbers. If a club has already received a large amount of funding from another source, such as the Immigrant Investor Programme, then they will be excluded.

Clubs who believe they meet the criteria are urged to apply before Friday, July 18, using an online form which must be completed by club personnel with an @gaa.ie email address.

Elsewhere in GAA, excitement is building in Limerick as the Senior Men’s Gaelic Football team gear up for their Tailteann Cup football final, where they take on Kildare in Croke Park on Saturday, July 12 with a 2.30pm throw in.
